Buyers often see DIN 2211 and ISO 4183 on European pulley pages and assume the references are interchangeable certificates. They are dimensional standards/references; the purchase order still has to define what the supplier must document or inspect.
ISO 4183 is current in a new edition
ISO published ISO 4183:2026 in January 2026. Its scope covers principal dimensions of grooved pulleys for classical and narrow V-belts including SPZ, SPA, SPB and SPC.
DIN 2211-1 remains current
DIN Media lists DIN 2211-1:1984-03 as current for narrow V-belt pulley dimensions and materials. German legacy drawings can therefore still reference it.
Read the machine drawing first
A replacement part must fit the existing machine. If a legacy drawing cites an older standard edition, do not change geometry solely because a newer edition exists.
Ask for the evidence you need
If acceptance requires a measurement report, material document or balance result, put that requirement on the RFQ. A standards sentence on a website is not a substitute for order-specific documentation.
